i thought was going to be another ordinary day.
but it didnt.
alhamdullilah,
i reached a new milestone.
its not that big. perhaps shouldnt even be mentioned here as well cause someone else out there could have had done something even betta and bigger.
but still, i dont care, its my personal victory.
its my blog and i, have the right to say and write whatever i want about myself, right?
yes, right.
so to cut the crap. here is what i did today.
i gave my first ever announcement and did a mini presentation in the lecture hall in front of my whole batch here in uni!!!!!
before this, whenever someone would go in front and talk/ announce something, i would always think in the back of my head 'wow, that person is so freaking brave.i wonder when will i have the guts to do that'
its not that awesome, i know, but i dared myself to do it and i did it!
it has been ages since i talked in public, in front of lots of ppl.
the last time was probably during my high school morning assembly!
and i guess doing it in front of malaysians is easy, especially if you know your audience well enough so you kinda have the confidence.
but here being in another country, with ppl of different background and race, who are like supa brilliant, you somehow would feel a bit self-concious of your malay accent, scared of sounding lame and even scared if they suddenly leave in the midst of you talking ( sbb mat saleh ni kan selamba nak mampos, bukan kisah nak jaga hati ke apa, dgn lecturer pun dorg bole selamba, ni kan aku ni ha)..hahaha
it was, and i guess it will always, be scary to be in front and talk, but thank god, i was gelabah-ish/ketar2 a bit for the first few sentences...haha after tht, it went smooth. yay!!
and know what?? i swear i had the adrenaline rush lasting for 2 hours. hehe
so if you are wondering what i was doing in front, i was promoting an event called fast-a-thon that was apart of the IAW (islamic awareness week) 2010.

what we were supposed to do was to get our non-muslims to take up the challenge to take the pledge to fast for a day, on 7th sept 2010 and get their family and friends to sponsor them.
all the money sponsored will be donated to green scarf day foundation, which is a youth run foundation that aims to tackle poverty via community project. this year they are sponsoring 'room to read' project in Bangladesh where they sponsor underpriviliged girls to go to school, so that they can change their lives through education, just like what my father always tell me.
" you can change your live only through education. ingat, pelajaran itu hartamu."
thats what my dad always tell us.plus some other dramatic and sympathy seeking lines that he says in his attempt to make us treat him like a king. ahahahaha.not gonna happen walid! hehehe
so yeah, i showed some slideshows and pictures, and guess what?!? 23 ppl signed up!
some of my australian friends congratulated me! ( ahhaa..coz they knew it was my first time :))
and i even go a HI-5!
i love them. they are so supportive.

i hope the IAW week goes well.
and the journey of beautiful biscuit continues.
i wonder when can she actually give a talk, here in australia.
"we are truly awesome". u made my day. thanks for always being my cheerleader for all these years.
