Dilemma

30 june 2012.

Today i went to sydney for the ASSC 2012 ( australasian students surgical conference) which was held in UNSW..

So we listened to surgeons from diff specialties and that gave us a better idea on which one suits us ..

It was great! It made my desire to become a surgeon burst into a bigger fire!

I can imagine being an academic surgeon, working for uni, juggling btwn surgeries, research and teaching!! teaching will become a big part of it. Which i love.. So much.. Ever since i was a kid, i always imagine myself being some lecturer, teaching somewhere. standing in front, and then educating the next generation. i mean come on, what other thing is more satisfying??

And oh ya, so far i like ENT as well..im actually considering doing it because i like the balance btwn the clinic work and also the surgery involved..so im not gonna be stuck doing just surgery 24-7, but would also get the opportunity to see patients in clinics setting! obviously would suit someone who gets bored doing the same thing again and again like me.hehe

and then , i come to think about raising up my future kids (hopefully ada anak..aminnnn hehe), if a future in surgery is given, that would mean, lots and lots of time in the hospital..and obviously less time at home with my family. i want my kids to grow up in my own hands, not in bibik ke apa...sedihh nnt..

its insane. it seriously insane. the dilemma. haihhh.

then i talked to Hani.

"Hani i confused la tak tau nak jadi apa..ENT surgeon ke GP ke Academic Surgeon ke nak jaga anak ke"

hani gave me the best answer

"Well , i guess skrg kita tak kan tahu. Who knows nnt, you wanna be a mum more than a doctor"

so thats it,
